Uma curiosidade relativamente á eleição do novo papa. Será que a Igreja tem a coragem de eleger o Cardeal Francis Arinze, da Nigéria? Garanto que muito boa gente, especialmente organizações xenófobas que se dizem tementes a Deus, iam ter uma palavrita a dizer.
Será que deste conclave emerge mais um apoiante do anacronismo e da ala conservadora da Igreja, fazendo esquecer completamente o que pareceu uma luz ao fundo do túnel com o Concílio do Vaticano II? Será que vai continuar a misoginia, a repressão do conceito de sexualidade enquanto prática ou orientação?
Esperemos que com a visão do fumo branco não ardam as esperanças de muitos católicos que conheço que anseiam por uma Igreja que esteja mais de acordo com a natureza daqueles a quem se dirige, ou seja, seres humanos.
Que bom seria um novo João XXIII . . .
